VMC Setter cum Operator with expertise in multi-axis machining, high-precision operations, and tool life monitoring. The ideal candidate should be capable of independently setting up Vertical Machining Centers (VMC), ensuring efficient and accurate production, and collaborating effectively with the production team. Experience with CAM software is a plus but not mandatory. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage time and communicate effectively are essential for success in this role. Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs), including selection and installation of appropriate tools, fixtures, and programs. Work with multi-axis machining setups to produce complex and high-precision components as per engineering drawings and specifications. Monitor and manage tool life, replacing or adjusting tools to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish. Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, and height gauges. Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and machining instructions to achieve correct tolerances and finishes. Optimize cycle times and machining parameters while ensuring high-quality output. Make minor program edits or offset changes as needed to correct machining errors. (Optional) Utilize CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) to generate or verify tool paths. Collaborate with team members, engineers, and quality inspectors to resolve machining issues and ensure smooth production flow. Maintain proper records of production, inspection, and tool usage. Follow all company and industry safety standards and protocols. Qualifications & Skills: Proven experience as a VMC Setter cum Operator, preferably in a high-precision manufacturing environment. Good understanding of multi-axis machining concepts. Familiarity with tool wear monitoring and replacement techniques. Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T symbols. Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments for dimensional inspection. (Optional) Working knowledge of CAM software is an added advantage. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage time efficiently. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with good communication skills. Technical diploma/ITI in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
